About Us

We are a small scale plant nursery in Windsor specializing in plants native to Nova Scotia. We also offer some species native throughout Canada as well as vegetable transplants in spring. 

 

Plants are pickup only, unless you message us for a shipping quote and said quote can be paid through e-transfer. Due to pots being different sizes, it is difficult to get an accurate quote through the website itself. 

 

We only grow straight species, meaning we do not carry cultivars. Cultivars do not increase genetic diversity and some have been shown to not benefit pollinators at all due to colour, flower, pollen, and seed changes.

 

All plants we sell are first year plants, unless stated otherwise.

 

We are always trying to be more conscious of sustainability, so we sterilize and reuse nursery pots when we can. Feel free to drop off nursery pots and trays when you visit. Any shipping/packaging materials are also repurposed. 

 

We believe in supporting a healthy soil, so all plants are watered with mycorrhizal inoculant a few times throughout the growing season, as well as a top dressing of worm casting occasionally.

 

We do not openly spray pesticides on our property. As such, plants may come with some insects. We do occasionally treat houseplants for pests in a separate greenhouse to prevent any chances of its spread.
